Walking is the most typical cardio workout, which is highly recommended by doctors and trainers to individuals with high blood pressures and heart problems. Walking as an activity can be performed on a field or even on machines such as treadmills. Walking greatly helps in burning the extra calories resulting in lower cholesterol level, which is very crucial for maintaining the fitness of cardio vascular system. Similarly walking plays a significant role in reducing the fat from the body thus helping individuals to get rid of extra weight. This lowering of body weight releaves the heart from the extra pressures, which is the main reason for heart attacks and blood pressure problems. Similarly running and jogging are also important cardio workouts, which greatly help in increasing stamina and maintaining overall fitness.

For individuals interested in some kind of adventure and fun, can also go for kickboxing. Kickboxing though very tiring can be fun and helps in improving the stamina, reducing weight, burning extra calories and even strengthens the body externally.

Swimming is supposed to be the best exercise for the whole body, it not only increases the power of the body but significantly increases the stamina. Since swimming involves rigorous movement of hands and legs at the same time it is the quickest way to get rid of obesity. The intensity of the work out burns calories on a large scale thus helping in achieving an excellent cardio vascular system complimenting with a good body shape.

Similarly individuals can take up an Elliptical training or even perform aerobics. Aerobics is greatly preferred by women as the workout though not intense gives the best effect, and additionally the workout is accompanied with music making it more enjoyable.

The cardio vascular system is a delicate system in the human body, and having an efficient blood circulation is very significant for better metabolism, a robust immune system and a very good mood and positive self-image.
